Thanks Valerie for stopping by! Always good to meet another social worker with a bent towards the mind/body and trauma work. I am planning to get my EMDR this year...at some point following yoga teacher training, but as always I must remind myself--one thing at a time, one moment at a time! I want to return to Kripalu as well and I really want to go to the trauma conference this year in Boston--missed it last year because of work conflicts...again, time and finances will tell on those fronts for now I am reveling in the exhaustion that is yoga school!

Thanks again for stopping by--I hope to hear from you again!

What a great site. Delighted to learn that there's another Social Worker who shares many of my interests and views. I am a SW in Toronto, certified in EMDR. I hope to return to Kripalu and attend a Vander Kolk conference this year.

I also adore the word neuroplasticity! :)

As someone who has suffered from Migraine Disease since I was 14, and having recently learned of the residual brain damage of that neurological disorder, I always come back to the body's ability to heal itself -- and the brain's ability to create new ways of being and doing.

Excellent. :)
